Morning calls

I HATE it when people call my house at like 8 or 9 in the morning when Im in the middle of my sleep. My sleep hours are rather abnormal because usually I fall asleep around 3 or 4 in the morning so I wake up at 1 p.m the earliest. So when people call my house in the morning...they wake me up and I can't fall back asleep like normal people. So most of the time in the morning, Im on my bed but not really sleeping. -____- I hate myself for not being able to fall asleep when I hear the tiniest noise. My cell is always on vibrate and beside my pillow when I sleep. And yes I wake up from the noise of vibration. Not vibration itself. Its noise!! Andddd yahhh its not cool !__!

Drama drama

After half of the anime I am watching came to a season break, I thought I'd revisit the dramas I dropped due to busy schedule during exam time/laziness/don't want to wait for new episodes every week. Picked up "ON AIR" which I stopped due to my lack of patience and "ILJIMAE" as recommended by my oppa. I started watching On Air because of the lead actor, Park Yeong Ha and actresses, Kim Ha Neul and Song Yoon Ah. Not a big fan of Lee Bum Soo but he's okie. It is basically about the making of a drama. How the production company, actors and actresses, their managing companies, scriptwriter and Directors interact with each other in order to make a drama. It is like a drama behind the scenes. Pretty interesting if you haven't watched that kind of drama before. You can see how each party demands or sacrifices in order to finish shooting the drama on a tight schedule.

Iljimae is about a thief who steals money and other valuable things from corrupted government officials and give them back to the poor based in Joseon Dynasty. I'm usually not a fan of ancient time dramas. The dialect and clothings just annoy me somehow. I started it just because Lee Joonki is the main character. But it gets interesting once the plot builds up. You know...the usual typical ancient time drama where a bunch of twisted high position officials set a trap and kill the good ones for treason and degrade their families as commoners or slaves. The son of the family looks for clues to revenge his father's death. It gets complicated with the love quadruple. The smart and pretty daughter of the corrupted official falls in love with Iljimae, the official's half-son who is actually the half brother of Iljimae is in love with his half-sister, and the smart swindler who had a crush on young Iljimae when they were kids came to realize that this is the guy shes been in love with, things gets complicated. So far its enjoyable for a change from modern time dramas.

Takoyaki + Macross Frontier???

Thanx to Cherry, my craving for the love my my life (takoyaki a.k.a octopus balls) tonight has gone to 110% -___-. Saw some random takoyaki making videos on youtube and she sent me a pic of her standing in front of a takoyaki stand with a tray of GIANT takoyaki balls. I have everything I need to make takoyaki at home but the takoyaki pan. I can't find the pan anywhere in Toronto and I don't want to order it from Japan either (the one store I found on amazon doesn't ship to Canada!!!). >.< stupid teashop. Why did they have to stop making takoyaki?!? It was soooooo goooood! I can't even find any place selling takoyaki in Toronto. I found some frozen takoyaki at the korean grocery store last time I went there. So I will be getting it when I go to k-town next time for sure.

On the other hand, just finished watching Macross Frontier episode 14 and my god...it rocks!

Its good to be back

So after 7 days in Portland this is what I've learnt. Never spoil your kid like my aunt and uncle! They got him in their 40s, so they love him so much that they spoil him by equal amount =\. The kid is spoiled like theres no tomorrow. Everytime he goes out, he gets a new toy. He has more than a thousand toys at home. Stored in the closets, bins, under the bed, everywhere you can see his toys. Yet he wants a new toy everytime he goes out. If he doesn't get one, he whines to his mom "Mommyyyyyy I want it. I want that one." If mommy didn't give in, daddy does after a "Daddyyyyyyy I really want it. Can I please have it?". So obviously the kid sticks with dad. Mom is just for feeding and sleeping. The kid has anger management issues. He just screams and hit people when he doesn't get what he wants. I was forced to sit beside him since he wouldn't let me go. So everytime he screamed, it went through from my left ear to my right. I had the urge to smack him everytime he did that regardless of how cute he is. But I didn't because it was his parents' duty to discipline him. Both mom and dad were in the car and didn't say a thing to the kid. I was like...this is ridiculous. They just let the kid does whatever he wants. If he is behaving like this when he is 5 years old, I can't imagine how his parents will handle him in the future. Anyway, thats their family's problem. Now about the trip. Except for the hours long car rides with the kid screaming beside me, it was pretty fun. I usually don't enjoy hour long rides since I have motion sickness a.k.a car sick. But I was okie most of the time thanks to my aunt's medicine. They are both doctors so they know what to do. I really like Portland weather. Its not very hot or cold. Especially because Portland is located between the mountains, the air is very fresh and clean unlike Toronto. Almost all the houses there grow roses, so everywhere you see is colorful roses. We went to Portland Royal Rosarian Garden the next day. Lunch at a dim sum place and went shopping for the rest of the day. Things are pretty cheap over there since Oregon state doesn't collect taxes. I got myself 2 pairs of sunglasses, a pair of glasses, sandals, flip flops, some guess jeans and aeropostale tops. Had to buy presents for cousins too. Visited various famous places around portland, Mutlnoma falls, Vista house where you can see 3 rives merged into the columbia river, Sturgeon (its eggs are the pricy caviar!) Farm , Tillamook Cheese Factory where you can sample various cheeses and buy home made icecream, Mount Hood for 4 seasons skiing and fabulous view and Lincoln City for its famous Clam Chower and beach. Unfortunately the weather wasn't corporating that day so I couldn't get a clear shot of the beach. On Saturday, we went to seatle to visit Seatle's famous year round Farmers' Market. Even though Seatle is a big city with lots of fishing ships going in and out, the prices at the market weren't that cheap. They were more like double or triple the price you would normally pay at the grocery store. $25 for a pound of fresh Salmon, 30 bucks for Smoked Salmon, $40 per lb Alaskan King Crab legs and lobster tails? o__0 I don't think anyone with a normal brain would buy the stuff from there. I really have no idea how the shops at farmers' market manage to keep their shops alive to this day. We walked around for a good half an hour or so and we didn't see anyone buying anything from those shops. Everyone was just walking and taking pics of the shops. I failed to get a pic of the so called "flying fish" because people were pushing each other and I was just too short to see the whole thing. I waited for a long time to get that shot too -____-. After farmers' market, we went to my aunt's friend's house which was a 45 minutes drive from Seatle. On the freeway, I managed to get a few shot of the city and boeing factory. They stopped manufacturing 747s since it was just too big and airlines can't afford to buy the big ones anymore. That is just too bad. I like the 747. It was so comfy. Apparently they still manufacture other small planes. We went home pretty early that day since we were leaving the next morning. At the airport, we learned that our plane to Atlanta will be late for an hour and we wouldn'd make the transit at Atlanta. So we had to change our route to Cincinnati, Ohio, half an hour transit there and fly straight to Toronto which saved a lot of time. It was my first time learning theres a city with that name. When I first heard the agent saying "Cincinnati", I was like "what? cinnamoni?? theres a city with that name?? COOL!" Later on I learnt the correct name Cincinnati when I looked at my ticket. Cincinnati and Cinnamoni, they sounded pretty much the same to me =\. The flight from Portland to Cincinnati wasn't that boring since I was sleeping most of the time. At Cincinnati, waiting for the next plane, I grabbed a coffee to wake myself up and thats when the trouble came. Our seat numbers weren't in sequence, the plane was quite small so it only had 4 seats in a row. We had 5 people in total. So one of us had to sit in the front row alone. Being the only kid in the crowd, I volunteered to sit in the lonely seat and let my mom, aunt, uncle and grandpa sit in the back row. I was bored out of my mind and had nuthing to do. So I started playing around with my camera and took some random and interesting stuff from the sky magazine that was provided. They were pretty cool. A waterproof Ipod case, Decorative cat litter box, bus boy shaped wine rack, travelling pet seat, and a twistable tripod. That was one enjoyable ride! Ohh I forgot, Its good to be back =)

2 Days After

It has been more than 48 hours since I last touched my laptop. To be honest, I didn't think I would last more than a day without my laptop or internet. VERY proud of it! Here in Portland, the weather has been extremely pleasant. No rain or not so hot. Except for the day when I arrived. It was hot and sticky and very tiring. Going from Toronto to Atlanta, I had never been treated like a suspect before. I swear to god! Stupid home land security, I even had to take off my belt for the stupid woman! She wanted me to like strip in front of 50 something people waiting in line >.< Almost got lost at Atlanda Airport cuz it has more than 6 terminals with different concourse levels, and Delta airline like owns the whole airport. Whenver I look around, all I can see was the jets from Delta air. Thank god we got to the check in point on time. Or else...I couldn't think of what we would do. Flew across America, from Atlanta to Portland, all the way to the west. I love window seats! The thrill you feel when the plance is taking off or touching the ground is just amazing!! You can see all the little houses and cars. Then gradually make it into the clouds. Very cool. Although some people might find it very scary. For example, Emma. The view was amazing. The Rockies, endless layers of clouds blue sky and finally sunset. Loved every single second of it. We visited the Rose Garden today. Extremely beautiful landscape and of course the roses. They are just gorgeous! Very colorful. Red, Pink, Purple, Yellow, White, Coral, you name it! Even the hybrids they have it all at the rose garden. I took 160 pictures in total when I was there. So you can tell how I am obsessed with roses. We are planning to visit Seatle and Vancouver in a few days before we go back to Toronto. It will be fun.
