Goodbye T Dot, Hello West Coast!

Its officially Sunday and I will be leaving Toronto with 12:40 flight. Waking up at 7 a.m is gonna be a pain -____-. 3 hours flight to Atlanta, 2 and a half hour transit and 5 hours flight to Portland....its gonna be so funnnn. Plus jet leg which means I am gonna sleep even later. I can just picture it -___-. To entertain myself, I've got a book, sudoku and Ipod in my bag. Its gonna be heavy to carry around but I think its worth the energy. I will try to update from my uncle's computer if I have the time and energy. For now its goodbye everyone =)

Adventure @ L'attitudes

Alright...how long does it take your hairdresser to cut your hair normally? (Im talking about girls here. Guys are not counted since it probably takes like 10 minutes to cut your already short hair.) Normally my hair takes half an hour to 45 minutes to cut and blow dry it. 45 minutes was the max! I got my new record yesterday. I went to L'attitudes in the basement of Eaton Centre to get my first haircut there. Since everyone's been saying how good the place is blah blah...I wanted to try it out. So I went in. Talked to the receptionist. She gave me a spa gown and took me to a seat where I had to wait for like 15 minutes.
After making me wait for 15 minutes, she came back with a guy. I was like...o___0 a guy!?! Don't tell me hes the one cutting my hair. He took me to the place where they wash your hair and a girl came to wash my hair. I was somewhat relieved. Cuz usually the same person washes your hair and cuts your hair. I seriously don't want a guy to be washing my hair I was thinking. So the girl was washing my hair and trying to converse with me. You know. The usual "how old are you? what are you doing for summer? do you have boyfriend? ohh i love your hair. its gorgeous."...etc. She seriously can't multitask. I mean she can't really tell the temperature of the water by herself when she was talking to me? She kept asking "hows the water? is it ok for you?" even though she was totally butchering my hair and scalp with hot water. It took her a good 10 minutes to finish. Then she took me to this room where there were all guy hairdressers and I saw the guy that brought me inside. EEK! And yes HE was the one who cut my hair -___- It turned out hes gay and the guys were talking OPENLY about gay parade and what they gonna wear to the parade. Something like "Im just gonna wear straps to cover my b****." made me just want to vapourize in the seat I was sitting. =.="" I have nothing against gays. I don't find anything wrong with a guy loving another guy. It just the way they act...makes me dislike them. It was very awkward to just sit there OVER AN HOUR and listen to what they were talking about even though I didn't want to hear it. So there goes my new record for my haircut. Over an hour. But I have to admit he is a great hairdresser. I somewhat agree with some people that gays are more fashionably sensible. At the end of the day, my bill came to a whopping 65 bucks! ~__~! My haircuts normally cost from 35 to 45 bucks (depending on the hairdresser). Ohh well...I guess thats what I got from a professional hairdresser from an international image centre.

Food of the day: Oreo Cakesters in French Vanilla Icecream. Its so damm good! It certainly beats the usual boring cookies and cream version. The oreo bites are softer and french vanilla is just awesome. ^o^

1 more day before I leave Toronto! gonna miss my friends )= but can't wait to see my cute little cousin =)

A day at the resrautant

I woke up this "morning" thinking of a plan for the day.
  1. Get a hair cut.
  2. Make a list of what I should bring for the trip. (toothbrush, medicine, etc.)
  3. Start packing for the trip.
  4. Catch up on chinese drama
However my plans got delayed when my mom called me around 3 something to go help out at the restaurant. My uncle who is the manager at the restaurant got hospitalized this morning due to some kidney problem. So me and my cousin were the victims of this unfortunate event. Both of us got called to help out at the restaurant. My cousin got there earlier since he drove whereas I had to take the stupid bus thats never on time -___-. Anyway, I got there and went in from the back since we usually use the kitchen entrance. I went up to my cousin to say hi. He hi-ed me back with a weird face. He looked...disappointed? I thought it was just me. There weren't that many customers today so I wasn't busy. Plus we have another waitress who works on wednesdays regularly. I was just there just in case there are a lot of customers and the new waitress couldn't handle the crowd. Both of us (me and my cousin) were bored. So we started flipping the newspaper and found the sudoku page. I really suck at puzzle games and yes being an asian, I feel inferior to those who can finish a sudoku in 10 minutes =.=". I thought I was the only asian who sux at doing sudoku. My god my cousin is worse! He is 28, straight A student, graduated from U of T life science. He has a master degree in molecular microbiology, again from U of T. Med school was his first choice but he enjoys teaching as well. He is now a teacher at some private school. He was telling me how he sucks at sudoku puzzles and how it takes him an hour to finish one. At least I am a bit better at this. It doesn't take me an hour to finish one. I watched him struggle on the second square and decided to help out. My eyes are a lot better at this compare to his. But the sad thing is...even when both of us put all our brains and energy into a sudoku puzzle in the globe and mail, we still failed to finish it. x__x I lost my patience and he just simply gave up. LOL. Then he told me what happened to him today. So after he sent his dad (my uncle) to the hospital, my aunt asked him if its okie for him to go to the restaurant in my uncle's place. This is how the conversation goes.

Aunt: Can you go to the restaurant in your dad's place?
Cousin: ....Ehh okieeee. I just have to cancel something.
Anut: Cancel what thing?
Cousin: A date!
Aunt: Whats a date?!? (with a straight confused face)
Cousin: A date mom, a date! I have to call the girl to say I can't go rock climbing with her anymore! I also have to call the trainer to cancel the lesson today.
Aunt: Ohh... (turns around and back to cooking)

I couldn't help but cracked up at this point. My aunt whos been in Canada for more than 30 years doesn't get when her son said "a date". I found that hilarious. I wonder what my mom's reaction would be when I tell her "Im going on a date". XD I feel sorry for my cousin though. His girlfriend is going to Ottawa for 2 weeks and today was his last time seeing her before she leaves And he just had to cancel it. That was the reason why my cousin looked rather disappointed when I saw him earlier in the day.

Nightmare or should I call it my short hair phobia?

I was so busy messing around with my blog last night that I totally forgot about this. After seeing emma in her new short hair on sunday...I was so shocked! I didn't think it would be that short when she said shes cutting it short. I guess it kind of reminded me of my middle school days with short hair and unconciously occupied in my mind. So there I was in my dream getting a haircut at some random place. The hairdresser cut all of my hair and left me with a VERY ridiculous looking short hair with weird looking bangs at the front! So I went up to the manager and complained the hairdresser cut my hair too short. He said no problem. We just need to extend ur hair. I was like o__0 "extend my hair"?!? He grabbed me to a chair and started pouring some slimy liquid on my head and started straightening my hair in that liquid. It was so weird but magically my hair stretched up to my shoulder. I had some ridiculous looking color highlights in my hair which made me think twice about getting some highlights when I cut my hair next time -____-

Goodbye Cherry )= Hello Summer / Vacation =)

Cherry is leaving tmr with 8 a.m flight =( ~__~ Im feeling very empty right now cuz normally she would be talking to me either on msn or phone at this time. She is going back to HK for 2 months. My do everything/go everywhere together buddy is gone for 2 whole months!!! What am I supposed to do for 2 months except for my little one week vacation to the states to visit my uncle? Spring school ended for me this week and i am literally FREE for 24/7 unless I get a job which I haven't started looking for one yet. Summer courses are starting next week and emma will be more busy since she is taking law during summer. I don't want to stay home either. Both my mom and bro nag me too much. They worry too much imo. But then, I can't really blame on them for being like that. Eversince we found out that I have a meningioma tumor in my brain, I have to watch when I sleep, what I eat, swallow more than 7 pills every night (e.g. multivitamin pill, Vitamin C, D, E, Calcium, Folic acid + my seizure medicine...3 or 4 pills depending on the day) and what I do (e.g. No alcohol, sleep at least 10 hours a day, not doing anything that would make me feel tired afterwards cuz Im already tired from the medicine's side effect or any other activities that would trigger seizures, no sleepovers and no overnight trips). Been to the hospital at least 5 times over the past 2 years thanx to the stupid tumor -___-. I hate the feeling when I wake up and find myself on the hospital bed with some drips attached to my vein!!! Speaking of which, I have to sleep before my mom comes down and tell me to sleep since its already 3. I have to wake up early in the morning to say goodbye to Cherry.

fun day at the beach

Today was fun. My friend called me up randomly and asked me if I want to go to the beach. She sounded like she really want to go. NO. She had to go today. She was desperate. So i said ok, we'll go. We called up two more friends and drove to the beach. It took us like 20 minutes to find a parking spot! -_____- We ended up parking in the street. We weren't sure if we can park there. But we were like "ohh there are other cars parked here too. It should be fine". We walked down the beach, walking through the sand bed and finally sat down near the water. My friend wanted to go into the water. So we tested if it was cold and oh my god, it was freezing. My feet was so cold even after I stuck them into the sand. We talked about random stuff and left the beach after an hour or so. It was a fun day in general, except for the messed up dream I had last night.
